| Notes | This is an experimental mischmetal incendiary projectile, consisting of a glass-reinforced nylon body and a teflon nose. It contains an octagonal core of 87% mischmetal (50% cerium, 25% lanthanum, plus other rare earth metals) and 13% aluminum. The teflon tip increases effectiveness against aluminum targets by creating an exothermic interaction upon impact. This was intended to be a lower-cost alternative to standard incendiary projectiles, while also reducing barrel wear. Covered under U.S. Patent number |
